Interviewer: Your records are funny
Elliott Smith: I think so too. And I thought there was a lot of humour in Morrissey’s records as well. It’s not that there wasn’t any real feeling in them, the two just co-existed. They can be moving & comical at the same time. I thought that was great. And I remember at high school people were like, oh Morrissey’s so depressing, and it’s just like, you don’t fucking get it do you?
